new true 32x speed cdwriter come out soon

Doesnt mention anything about true 32x that i see....it would be very very hard to do 32x on the inside track of a cd...we cant read em that fast, no way theyll be writing em at tha speed that i see....ill settle for the 40/12/40 Plextor i ordered last night, arrives a week on friday 😀 😛

PS - isnt that the same unit put under review at cdrinfo ages ago ?

Alright dude, where the hell did you order it from?! I've been waiting upgrade my burner for the longest time and as soon as I can order a 40/12/40 Plextor burner, I will. So let's hear it man! Give up the goods!
😎

Oh how nice, that was my 400th post there 🙂

Yeah, after checking, it is the same unit reviewed at cdrinfo...the only thing i can say about it is that it has the Mt Rainer support...no mention of its been made for the Plextor 40x yet, but i cant really say im too bothered, i dont think its something id usemuch at all, and i reckon ill probably end up getting a DVD-RW some time around 15 months from now, so if it does take off then it should be available to me that way.

I suggest you check out www.cdrinfo.com, they reviewed the same drive ages ago, it does not do 32x CLV writing...it is a Zone CLV drive. As i said, we cant even READ the inside track at that speed that im aware (no Kenwoods please😛), so i dont see it being written at that speed (no ML drives please😛)....

JackBurton, I live in the UK, and ordered it from one of the best online companies we have, www.dabs.com... Its listed as of yesterday with Long Lead Time expected, what they do when they add somthing before its release generally, but upon 'purchase' my order status lists it as expecting stock Feb 7th...

robg1701

you are right same drive but you have to remember that is the early engineering sample that they got from Mitsumi Europe. what I am talking about is the final releast in USA

Ok, but do you think theyre gonna change it THAT much ? I dont think so...

And none of the links youve provided say anything about true 32x.....if im wrong ill be happy to admit it, but i really dont see anything to suggest that...add in the fact that we dont even read cds at those speeds that im aware on the inside of a disc, i dont see them acheiving that speed in writing...the faster Z-CLV drives start at 20x...thats a HUGE diference up to 32x...60% faster ? Dont think so....

Can someone else jump in here ? 😛

I should clarify incase thers any confusion...i dont deny it achieves a maximum 32x...ive just bought a 40x, hehe...what im saying is i dont see any way that it can be a true 32x across the entire disc...its just not happenin....its starting at a sower speed and building up...Z-CLV

<< here is the linkCHECK IT OUT😀 >>

unlikely.

Sony Red Book standard calls 500RPM at innermost part of CD at 1x mode. In order to write at 32x in the center, the disc has to rotate at 16,000RPM unless multiple beams are used.
