Wow! I can't believe I just purchased a new Chevy Silverado 1/2 ton in the granite blue color. What a nice truck. My old 94 silverado was starting to fall apart and I couldn't justify spending any money on fixing it up or buying a used one with now warranty. Now at least I have new truck that gets decent fuel mileage, a full warranty, and 0% for 5yrs. I'm so excited. I've never owned a new truck before and am going to baby this one for a while.

I got the 5.3l motor with it. I would have liked the 6.0l, but it was a little more money then I wanted to spend. I was able though to get all the options I wanted for a little over invoice. Some of my friends were telling me I should have gotten a smaller truck but I couldn't justify spending about the same amount of money for a smaller truck with less room that got close to the same miles per gallon.

Congrats! 100,000 mile warranty right?

I got to drive one for a week and it was a fine ride for a truck. I enjoyed it more than the Titan my dad drives.

Yeah, my brother-in-law is a contractor and goes through a LOT of trucks (seriously, 2 or 3 a YEAR sometimes). He loves his Silverado and has kept it longer than probably the last 6 combined.

Ha... You are going from a 94 to a NEW one and you wanted the 6.0L? The 5.3L has a load more power then your 94, so I am sure you will be just fine with the 5.3L ;)

But yea they are nice. My dad is still beating on his 200k 1999 GMC and it still won;t die. He has done VERY little to it in terms of repairs but beats the snot out of it. I know he excedes the tow rating often. But it still keeps going. He says when it dies he will get another. The trans I think slips a little right now. But he has had it serviced maybe once or twice at best.
