I've heard people have said that it's one of America's Best High Schools. How many people actually know about this school?

In college one of my floormates was from New Trier.

I disagree though. Bronx Science is one of the best.

It's near me... I don't know too much about it, other than I've also heard how good it is, and how they always used to kick my HS's ass in competitions of all sorts.

Are you kidding me? All the rich snobs go there. They are too rich to do drugs like pot. So they move onto herion because it is more expensive. Everyone that goes there is screwed up.

It's just rich. Even 10 years ago, the average residential property value was $700,000. That's a huge tax base.

I went to a public school not far from there (Niles West) and we always beat New Trier in acedemic competitions. I can't remember a single instance of them beating us in math theam, science olympiad, WYSE, AcaDec, etc.

I'm sure they're a good school but they are not the "best in the nation"

Edit: New Trier is in the north suburbs of Chicago.

Our website sucks and is hardly ever updated, but our yearbook gets an A+, we have won more awards than the ones listed due to the aforementioned lack of updating.

I went to Marist on the South Side, and even we heard New Trier had a great academic reputation.

You didn't beat them in Science Olympiad. Scroll down to team #52 - they made it to Nationals. I recall that team from Nationals in 2002 and maybe 2001 as well. So um...there are a few instances.

BTW, I know nothing else about New Trier.

ah yes New Trier, the richie northern suburb with the fantastic facilities. I just graduated from Oak Lawn Community High School on the Southwest side of chicago and of course new trier is hailed as the best of the best. all i never new about it was that they spend an incredible amount of money on education up there to make it the best school around.

Apparently, Stevenson Highschool, another highschool around my area, is even richer . . . not to mention Glenbrook North, that school with the hazings on the news a while ago . . ..

The school districts there are the most competitive/highly-paid in terms of the faculty in the nation. Mine was, supposedly (214).

Anyhoo, I was busy being at school (ISU) during the Chicago ATOT meet, not to mention the fact that it was my birthday the day you guys decided to meet up.

HaHa ISU I went to HS right across the street at Normal Community HS ... I heard they just tore almost the whole building down to make a new elementary school. Bloomington/Normal ahh the memories... Glad I'm gone!

1987. Yes, I'm so old, they served Brontoburgers in the cafeteria.
