I thought he was beastwars?
They recycle a lot of the names, so you'll have a completely different character from series to series that just has the same name. Big examples:
Megatron - G1
Megatron - Beast Wars/ Beast Machines
Megatron - Robots in Disguise
Megatron - Armada
Megatron - Michael Bay movie

They've also reused Galvatron, Optimus Prime, Wheeljack, Iron Hide, Inferno, Silverbolt, Blurr... you get the idea. Same name, completely different individual/person.

I did not know that. What is the difference between G1 and Robots in Disguise? Which one was the cartoon in the late '80s?

Yes

Though, for some reason in the movie Bumblebee does not. He communicates by playing music on his radio or some such lame thing.

The pre-film rumor is that his voice box had been crushed.

Bumblebee also has two forms in the movie.

Don't the transformers talk?
It'd certainly be a waste to hire Peter Cullen and Hugo Weaving to do voices and then not give the Transformers any dialog.

Teasers!

In this last one, you see bumblebee's radio starting to tune in to something.

I predict within the next two trailers we will hear dialogue.

I honestly hope they stop here. If they show anymore scenes we'll have seen the entire film just by watching all the trailers.

the trailers are mostly showing parts of the same scenes...hardly much of the whole movie.

And they're still managing to create enormous buzz, which is good.

I personally don't want the whole thing revealed before I see it. The original Jurassic Park had the same type of marketing (which isn't a surprise since Spielberg is producing Transformers); they gave us hints and glimpses, but didn't reveal the spectacular shots in the trailers.

I saw the trailer during Shrek 3, but I like the Yahoo exclusive trailer better. It showed Starscream better.

G1= Generation one, or the original 80's cartoons and toys. They later re-released everything, TV show and re-colored toys, a few years later as "Generation 2." The G1 thing stuck as an identifier for the original stuff.

Robots in Disguise was a bloody awful cartoon. It... it was like the Pokemon tv series. A REALLY REALLY *BAD* Pokemon series, and I'm saying this as a guy who didn't like Pokemon in the first place.

Yeah, had me excited but I just read a report that soundwave himself didn't make the cut for this film.

That is Soundwave, he's a stereo, just like in the cartoon/comics, but only six feet tall in robo-form.

Edit - my bad, it's not Soundwave, it's Frenzy. No Soundwave.
