An action packed 2 hours with the 12 huge set pieces Bay is putting into the movie.

Wow I will look forward to this one.

But is it me or this time around the new "modern" look for all the transformers seems... well delicate? I feel they would disintegrate upon any impact and they do not feel as heavy duty as their animated counterparts.

I've heard it's mostly non-action and the Decepticons are beaten quickly in every scene. Let's hope that's wrong.

Oh, and here's a pretty neat video: from sectorseven, org showing some CGI of more classic looking transformers, like Grimlock, Reflector (turns into a camera. I THINK it's him, anyway though it was actually three guys that formed the camera), and Insecticon (Kickback), Laserbeak, and Bumblebee (VW bug, not the version in the movie, though we only see his feet). None of this is in the movie, but it was "fan service."

Haven't seen or heard of the walkman guy and his tape pets.

Soundwave?

that's it. One of the coolest dudes from the cartoon way back. Had a dog and bird that could be formed from the cassettes.

They showed the trailer at Shrek 3 with some added bits - more Blackout, little more Optimus, plus a couple of other things.

It might be the same trailer that's on Universal's page. which added a few bits, like Optimus talking to Sam from outside his bedroom window.

They recycle a lot of the names, so you'll have a completely different character from series to series that just has the same name. Big examples:
Megatron - G1
Megatron - Beast Wars/ Beast Machines
Megatron - Robots in Disguise
Megatron - Armada
Megatron - Michael Bay movie

They've also reused Galvatron, Optimus Prime, Wheeljack, Iron Hide, Inferno, Silverbolt, Blurr... you get the idea. Same name, completely different individual/person.
