Lots of R&D has been put into the V-6 engines over the past few years. I doubt if much research has been applied to the V-8 engines. That's why the V-6 engines have good H.P. and torque outputs. Plus, they get great gas mileage, too.Originally posted by: toant103
How come the V6 engine has more HP than the V8?

Buahaha. The 4-Runner's V6 ownz the VQ in the Pathfinder and let's not even discuss the 4-Runner getting owned by the V8. Also, the new 4-Runner is fast as hell. Something like 0-60 in 7.8 seconds.
On road and off-road, the 4-Runner would stomp the Pahtfinder (especially with the 4-Runner's XREAS suspension off-road). Not to mention that the Pathfinder is based on a platform that dates back to '96 and isn't up to the 4-Runner's level of fit, finish, and safety
I'll take mine grey with the Sport Package
Seriously though, there is NO comparison with the Pathfinder vs the new 4-Runner.
