1400x1050 is the dell 8100 with the sxga+ screen...
yeah its weird, but if i try 1600x1200, my screen is only a part of the full 1600x2000

as for the practicality of it, i think its really for someone who doesnt really use a computer in a portable fashion (ie only uses it plugged in) but needs a portable because he or she needs to use it at different places.

as for the wireless keyboard, it would be useful if youd prefer to have it on your lap, or if you hooked it up to a bigger monitor or a home theater ... (it has a wireless mouse too)

anyway, yeah its too heavy - does anyone remember those "portable computers" from like 10 years ago that werent laptops? they were like big suitcases with a full computer inside and like 15-20 lbs.... at least this new toshiba is an improvement on that

1400 x 1050 is like a step down from 1600 x 1200, and it is still 4:3 ratio... unlike 1280 x 1024....1400 x 1050 happens to be perfect on my 19" monitor, the best between desktop area vs. readability
