NEW TOPIC: ECE/CompSci at UCSB vs UCD

Ok the other thread was not going at all where I intended so I decided start a new one and ask a more specific question:

I have to choose between UCD and UCSB. I'll be doing ECE (possibly CompSci). Which one do I choose?

From what I understand UC Davis has a better academic program but it would be worthwhile to visit both campuses and check out the departments and ask some questions.

UCSB has HOT HOT girls. UCD has a lot of asians, not sure about the girls. you'll get a decent education at both, though I think UCD is known to have better academics

Didn't they used to be free, like just a year or a few months ago?

Rankings must have changed then... When I checked, Davis was above Irvine, and I don't even remember seeing SB anywhere near them.

hm...I always thought SB was better for engineering...with 5 nobel prizer winners and the #1 physics department in the nation etc...I dunno

Undergrad Education != Graduate Education. Chances are those nobel prize winners won't be bothered with you while you're still working on a bachelor's, particularly at larger schools.
