I am building a new computer which will hopefully last me a long while. And I decided to do watercooling this time around. The specs for the build are here;http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/PublicWishDetail.aspx?WishListNumber=11235169

I pretty much need help with choosing the Res, Rad, and pump. The water blocks are easy enough for me. Just Koolance 6970 and 1155/1156 water blocks. Any other help with setting it up inside the case is appreciated. I know, I am complete noob when it comes to this ^_^ but, we have to start somewhere. IF anything else is needed just ask and I will promptly put it on here. Mind, I am new to this. Hehe.
Thanks

I would go with these:
http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/swmcqupo3xbl.html
http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/swmc12vdcpu1.html
http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/swreformcpur.html

Don't forget tubing, fittings (barbs/compressions/quick disconnects/T's/elbows/rotaries/etc), clamps, coolant purifying agent (e.g. PT Nuke), fans, and any other accessories you may want (fan controllers/flow meters/lights/etc.)

To figure out where to put everything, just look around at pics of everyone elses' setups to get an idea. Once you put the parts in the case you'll figure out the details.

Also, what is the purpose of going watercooling? Out and out performance or moderate performance and silence? What you answer will influence what is recommended.

And check out sites like http://skinneelabs.com/ and read reviews.

I'd be careful of what you add to the water because somethings came adversely affect the parts, especially plastics and acrylics. current recommendations at the moment is plain distilled water and a silver coil.

http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/sikibyia.html

I had an acrylic reservoir crack and leak on me in the past so I don't add much to my loop.

One more thing. What is your budget?

Just Koolance 6970 and 1155/1156 water blocks.
Hehe.
Thanks

lolololol i think im starting to rub off on people.

Koolance has one of the easiest install PERIOD.
The only company that has a install as easy as koolance is swiftech.

eK's can get tricky because the standoff's are not part of the block.
XSPC's also can get a little tricky at times too.

When its someone asking for advice, i usually go with what is the easiest to install, then closely followed by performance.

If its someone who just want to try out parts and wants the peak, then i go the other way around.

:)

That being said, yes dawp is correct. We need to know budget.
The price on a rad unit alone can be as much as 3x what a MCR320 costs, if your going after a secondary niche.

Also Bay Res's are very convenient. They take up 2 5-1/4 bays, and holds the pump on the res.

I have both the DDC and D5 bay res coming in from me from koolance next week. So i'll tell you which i think is greater, if your interested in the bay res's.

Okay, Sorry I haven't replied I thought there were no replies. Hehe. Anyways, I woul dlike to keep the setup under 500 if possible. My purpose is for the expanded overclocking room and silence. I will be going with the Koolence ones if they are easy to install. And yes I would like a bay res. I will have plenty room in the Corsair 700D for the WC loop. If anyone can link me to some good res/pump combo's like Aig said that would be great. Along with a res. If I didn't cover anything feel free to ask, anything to add to is appreciated as I would not like to screw this up. Haha, Thanks a lot everyone! :)
Oh, And if you think of Sites to buy from its helpful ^^

Check out Aigo's guide in his signature for a list of different sites and how each can be better for certain things.

As for res/pump combo, your best bet is with a Koolance rp402x2 or rp452x2 (numbers may be off). Another could be going with a Danger Den Monsoon if you do not want to have run to increase from one loop to two loops or run two pumps on one loop for redundancy.

The only problem I had with my Koolance bay res. was the O-ring and using their connector and the replacement part they give you. The O-ring was too large and they used way too much oil or some solution and the ring would just not go back in. I had to end up cutting the O-ring and closing the ring with heatshrink (worked better than I thought).

I am running the Koolance CPU-370 on my new SB build and it was mindless on the installation. The appearance of the cooler goes well with any build and I would buy another when I build a second computer.

My only problem with your budget is that with just the CPU and GPU blocks you could be up to 200+ depending on what you wish to use. Then the bay res. with one pump is another 100+.

Okay, I found the following parts;

CPU Block; http://www.performance-pcs.com/catal...6f5d3f456abc76

Rad; http://www.performance-pcs.com/catal...4bc4544abf9027

GPU Block; http://www.performance-pcs.com/catal...d7a12fa6a846c0

Tubing; http://www.performance-pcs.com/catal...oducts_id=2729

Fans; http://www.performance-pcs.com/catal...50fa9eac6e0bbc

All with 1/2 inch ID fittings. Now, for the bay+pump combo, can any one give me a link to a good one? Or model number etc. That one you gave me seemed WAAYY too expensive for a Res+pump. I mean, I ma be new, but 114$ for a bay res?

Oh, the res comes with a pump included doesn't it? Haha, I was wondering... :D

Bleh, Image didn't post. http://img34.imageshack.us/f/pokjy.png/
That has the list of parts. Due to the budget I won't be able to get a seprate pump, and I'll just use the one included with the res. Unless you have any suggestible for a cheaper res, then I'll be able to get a separate pump.

don't use that 1/2" id 5/8" od , the tube walls are too weak, it can collapse on the return line to the pump, especially if the blocks are restrictive. I found out the hard way.

I got 15 feet of this stuff for around $20 shipped from jab-tech last week to replace my thin walled stuff.

http://www.jab-tech.com/ClearFLEX-60-Tubing-1-2-ID-3-4-OD-pr-2431.html

it working pretty good for me. I also bought my swiftech apogee xt block from them

for a pump (that koolance reservoir does not come with one), the swiftech mcp355 or similar will work

http://www.jab-tech.com/Swiftech-MCP-355-12v-DC-Pump-pr-3510.html

everything else looks good.

and frozencpu is one of the more expensive stores, shop around and see what other charge.
some that I have used in the past is:
jab-tech.com
sidewindercomputers.com
dangerden.com tho they only sell danger den brand
and one that is no longer in business, cooltechnica.com, I got my Whitewater block from them years ago.

here's the same reservoir you have in that pic for less at sidewider

Kay thanks. I'll look at Jab-tech for the parts to see if I find them. I was thinking I might as we do a res that has the bolt on tube in the case. Or do it externally. The 700D does have those grommets so it could be placed out side if room became an issue.

I opted for the swiftech microres. it's so much cheaper and it can be placed anywhere in the case. and I hung my pump off the bottom, I moved the lower port to the bottom and hooked up my pumps intake directly to it with a piece of tubing just long enough to cover the barbs.

Do you think I could get a picture of the loop? If you don't have one already don't worry about if you don't want to. Oh! I saw that botom port on that res, I like it can be used as a drain .

Haha, Nice xD
I put the Swiftech MCP655-B in my cart for the swiftech res you mentioned. Everything seems to look good.

that pump I got is a jingway dp-1200 that i got for $22 during crazypc.com going out of business sale. It's the same as the danger den DD-CPX-Pro

http://skinneelabs.com/jingway-pumps/

and the radiator is a temporary one until I decide on whether to get a 360 or 480 sr1. I can mount either in the top of my case, I'll just have to move the external ports if I go with a 480.

You can source parts from different retailers, depending on who has what and for what price when your ready to buy.

I would, but when I order I have to only get from one source. Hehe, Mum says so.
But I can get from different paces, just not several dif. ones after another. Anyhows, I am getting these http://img856.imageshack.us/f/stuffw.png/ Plus a EK CPU water block that is off screen.

MCRES is the best functional res.
Its not blingy, but its the best functional res at its price.

The New in, tho is bay Res. The ones from koolance offer 2 pump options and dual loop possibilities.

I use both tubes, and im getting in bay res's from koolance tomorrow on my rebuild.

But tube res:

You've seen 1, u probably seen them all.

Theres also RES TOP's... :p

The 655 is a great pump, although a bit of a pain to mount due to its size and shape. If you want to go with that pump I would recommend going with a bay reservoir that is designed to fit that pump. Something like this:

http://www.frozencpu.com/products/11...0c97s168#blank

That way you can cleanly install your pump and Res into 2 5.25 bays.

Mounting isn't a problem, I have plenty of time. And i'm willing to mod the case if necessary. And I can't find the bay res at Jab-Tech. I can also go with a dif. pump if they have it at that website.

Those are bay res's.

And they can support 2 loops and 2 pumps:
