Ok, so I am about to get two desktops pc for the 1st time, I don't want them in the same room so I know hubs won't do. I checked out the linksys site and see many of their products. Im guessing I need Linksys Wireless Access Point or the Linksys Wireless Access Point Router (btw, whats the big difference). That cost around $100 right. Then I though how will I have my cable internet on both. I checked more of linksys products and realize I need a PC card or a USB adapter. Now I have to adds to around 150+ bucks.

Am I right or is there a cheaper way to network my two desktops wirelessly? Or I have to settle with having them close and just use a $20-30 hub? I'm confused with all this network stuff.

No matter what you do it will not be under $70, so your are better off doing it right.

Get a Wireless cable/DSL Router even if you do not have broadband Internet.

It will provide you with both Wireless, and a 4 port switch.

Get a USB card for the second Desktop, and you are done.

If you shop carefully you can find such a combo for less than $100.

It is not necessary to follow ?Market Hype? for one room or small apartment any of the combos will do.

Barricade Wireless Cable/DSL Router $89.99 - $40(rebate)=$49.99

D-Link Dwl-120 Wireless Usb $43.
