I downloaded the distributed.net client and I set it to run the RC5 project. I was wondering how to join the anandtech team though. I set it up to connect to the anandtech RC5 proxy but is there anything else I have to do?
There are a couple more steps to do. First, you will have to wait until some of your work units have made it to distributed.net so they can set up a stats page for your cracking email address (this normally takes 24 hours or so). Next, you will need to click "Please email me my password" on your stats page once it's up. Then you can visit the Team AnandTech page here and click "I want to join this team!" and you will be able to use your cracking email and your password to join. 🙂Welcome to Team AnandTech!!
edit: to see whether your page is up yet, put your cracking email address into the participant search box here.
You can confirm it by searching out your daily output in the Team AnandTech roster. Go to the Team AnandTech page at Dnet and click the "yesterday" link in Click here to view this team's participant stats for yesterday or overall. Now go through the pages until you find your email address, and if you're on there, all is well. 🙂
