I just looked over my PSU and discovered it was a Bestec 250w ATX250-12Z Rev. D7R, which doesn't have the best reputation, so I'm a bit worried about my coming upgrades to RAM and a new video card.
I'm looking at this SeaSonic as a replacment:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16817151055
Will its 300w be sufficient for an PC set up like this?:
AMD Athlon 64x2 4200+ Brisbane
2 or 3GB PC2-6400 RAM (this would be an upgrade)
160GB 7200rpm HD
DVD-RW Lightscribe
ATI HD4670, HD4650 or HD4550 512MB Video Card (this would be an upgrade)
Right now the PC has 1GB RAM and integrated Nvidia graphics.
I'm new to working with Power Supplies and never thought of the PSU as being so integral to upgrades I'm considering. I'm a bit hesitant on the upgrades because of concerns about the PSU. Would I be ok just going with the upgrades without changing the PSU (even with a low-end HD4550)?
All help is appreciated.
