new to overclocking

I decided to overclock my tbred 1700+ I got the other day upgraded from a tbird1200 anyway does overclocking decrease your cpu's life span....even if u dont change voltage? how far do u think this cpu will go without voltage adjustments.....I dopped my multiplier to the lowest I could for now 9.5 and can get the fsb to 166 should i go any higher?
