Hi guys, I'm a photographer and now using Pshop cs5 and lots of other programs and I think I need some extra juice. I saw a you tube video on how to overclock in the bios but thought it best to ask here. As stated an i7 860 and giga p55 ud6. The video said to disable turbo. While I build my own machines I'm new to this. Also I have pc 2000 ram

Thanks, Bruce

using stock fan, need to improve performance if I can do it with stock fan and I don't know how much thats why I'm asking for advice....thanks

Uhhh...well, I don't know if you need to overclock with just the stock HSF. Especially since turbo mode does that for you. I'd recommend going into power options and setting them to high performance. This will keep your CPU at a nice high setting rather than dropping off. Still, while "performing" at a high level, the CPU will stay at a high clock rate.

Otherwise, if you really need to OC this thing, just set the BLCK setting a little higher over and over until the system becomes unstable. Then bring it back down a little bit. I'd think you can get to about 3.4 before you have some issues. Don't mess with the voltages too much, that's what affects your temperatures.
