So just got my new Asus PK5 Deluxe and got my Q6600 up to 3.2 GHz on air with Ultra 120 Extreme. Current Vcore is at 1.275 and Orthos stable for 8 hrs. Cucial Ballistix is 4x1GB sticks at 4-4-4-12. FSB Termination Voltage = 1.3 and Northbridge voltage = 1.25. After 8 hrs of Orthos the highest temp on one core was 62 celsius. Do I have more room to go do you think? What is the safe temp to have on any one core?

What rev? Above 70deg C G0 starts to get a little unstable. But B3s should be fine up to ~80

Depends, what are you using to read your temps? 68C in coretemp? If you aren't using core temp, or the newest beta of speedfan, it's reporting your temps 15c lower than they actually are. Throttling doesn't kick in until 100c, but I wouldn't feel comfortable going much over 70c on a regular basis.

i've got my G0 up to 3.6 (400x9) but it takes some extra vcore to get it there (1.4775) and it does run hot under full prime loads. it touches 70-71 when it's hot in here. i'm using the tuniq tower btw.

try core temp 0.95.4 that works well for me.

edit: and i've enabled speedstep (EIST & C1E) to save on temps and stress while it's at idle. IP35 Pro

Much better now that I reapplied AS5 and put the fan on the heatsink in a push manner. Max temp even reported was 57 celsius after running Orthos for 1.5 hrs. A nice 5 degrees difference and most of the time was around 54-55.

I'm bumping this thread because I'm getting my Q6600 today. I've not OC'd in a long time. I hear this chip was really easy to OC--true?

true, even more so with a G0 stepping chip.
