After debating on a new vehicle for my wife for several months we pulled the trigger today on a 2011 Sorento. It's spicy red LX model with the V6 and convenience package (rearview camera, sensors, heated seats, a few other bells). It has 34,000 miles on it and retains the rest of the 10 year/100 thousand miles warranty which is nice.

Also has tan interior. Only thing it doesn't have which I may have enjoyed is AWD, but the fact is any offroading I would do could probably be done with no AWD. Every similar model with AWD was at least $3k more so I'm okay saving that money. Ended up just over $18k before taxes. The vehicle was $28k new.

Here is a crappy pic snapped by the dealer. Haven't been able to take my own yet.

I think I'm going to be very happy with the vehicle.

Nice SUV. V6 should really move. Is that the same 3.8 they have in the Genesis? I am very jelly on your features. Heated seats would be nice up here and rear camera is a must for my ex who can't park to save her life.

I don't think you will miss the AWD if you have decent tires and traction control. I have it on my RAV4 and never need it. Sometimes I lock in the AWD just to see if I can make the tires spin in the snow. But thats just me being stupid.

Have fun.

Looks good. Congrats!

I doubt that thing would be very good off road anyway. Most of those car based suvs aren't.

Had a lot of experience driving these, this model year especially. I really like them. Well laid out interior, handles well, good bang for buck, and that V6 has got some pep to it. Unfortunate you couldn't get the AWD though.

Thanks for the comments. That V6 sure can move. It's a 3.5 I believe, not a 3.8, so I don't know what kind of relationship, if any it has to the genesis engine.

I didn't expect to get the convenience package either, but it was just a happy bonus. Since my wife is used to driving a small car I think it will be great to have the rear camera and proximity sensors. Especially since our neighborhood has a million little kids (and my wife comes from a long line of people who don't look behind them when they back up, not saying she does this though).

I did a lot of research and this really came down to the best bang for buck. And to be honest I like the outside looks AND the interior way more than most competitors (santa fe, equinox, traverse). The interior reminds me a lot of my old jetta (which is a good thing). It really does have that german feel both inside and out.
