Why not?

I have the VF34/STI injectors, full suspension, catless exhaust, Sti intercooler.

A bunch of braces under and on top, sways.

I have basically a car that will dart here and there, it's neutral handling at the limit but understeers unless I really hammer the throttle.

I need to smooth out the tune as I would like a tad more responsive throttle.
It's a daily driver, I get 27mpg highway, about 25-26 in town.

It's a tad rich, but I'd rather be rich than lean.

Yeah, but you're running the wrong tune any way you slice it. Rich/lean isn't the point if the tune is wrong stuff can still blow up.

Well I'd like to get it professionally tuned but the nearest tuner is 5 hours away

I've had over 40k miles without a hiccup. I don't see how it's a bad tune other than it could be smoothed out.

I've scoured the forums of NASIOC and never heard of anybody blowing engines just based on a minor ecu flash.

So I got a turbo that pulls from 3.5k to redline no problem where as my WRX turbo ran out of breath around 6k, I've taken the steps to send the right air to fuel mixture, freed up my exhaust flow, and I don't see how a pulley has anything to do with this, but I got that on there too.

Why is that the tune wrong? He's got all the STI bits...

I guess its a matter of semantics. He specified "Cobb Stage 1" which implies the Cobb tune for a completely stock motor/turbo/exhaust. That's why I thought he wasn't running the the VF34 map Cobb has.....

Do want. :)

Dream car. Lately though, for future life/practical purposes, I've been dreaming of the hatchback/wagon STI.
I can only imagine waking up every morning (actually rousing from zombie slumber mode) to that glorious rumble as she comes to life. :D

nice evo :)

the first STI/EVO they brought to the states are the rawest most liveable.

Now they are both a tad on the cush side but the cars have gotten to accommodate wider wheels and other tech upgrades.
Still I couldn't turn it down, it's just I can't see myself buying the new gens when other sports cars have become bargains now.

I've felt the same, btw... yet I realize if I want the most lively and most capable AWD sedan/hatchback, I still have to turn to those two models. I do want to buy American, but American auto as of yet offers me little choice.
Ford has yet to release a tuned AWD Focus or Fiesta for consumer purchase (seriously? ridiculous), Chrysler's AWD for non-SUVs isn't exactly the most spectacular in comparison to Subie and Mitsu AWD configurations.

AWD fusions are pretty nice, if you don't mind the auto-tragics

AFAIK, Subaru is the only symmetrical AWD. Does Mitsubishi even sell cars in America anymore?

yep. I looked at getting an Evo, it was cheaper than the STi...but the sales guy said I had to fill out a credit app BEFORE the test drive...walked out of there lickety split.

imo, the EVO X is fatter and duller than the previous versions...it still hauls some ass though.
