Question New to mackbooks, Need help figuring it out.

hey guys, im technically inclined when it comes to PC but macbooks stump me. lol.

Any who im trying to fix a macbook pro for my friend. wont boot. SO i went into the boot menu and erased the hard drive and tried to reinstall lion os....fail....cant download files needed. SO ive been tryign to figure out how to get a new os on this thing since every way i try via the mac book itself fails....anyone have a good how to? NO I DO NOT HAVE ACCESS TO A WORKING MAC PC. ONLY WINDOWS!

Lion is a pretty old OS at this point, what model MacBook Pro is it?

Not a mac expert but it usually takes creating a bootable usb drive with an OS compatible with that specific mac computer

Start there, it has the links and instructions to download the OS and how to create the drive.

It looks like the instruction work on a mac. To create the drive on a windows PC you may have to use a special program.
