New to Linux - Solitaire...?

I don't know what that is. Generally, you should use your package manager to find and install files, and only go outside of that when absolutely necessary. AisleRiot Solitaire(as well as others) is in your repos, and should be sufficient for your solitaire needs.

I appreciate you responding but I am BRAND new to Linux so most of what you typed is greek to me...

Can you give it to me in NEWB language...

Thanks again!

EDIT - I have linux mint 17.1

You're in Mint, right? I think that uses Ubuntu Software Center. Look for that in your program menu, or if it has a searchy(!? :^P ) thing, type software in it, and it should pull up the relevant program.

I pulled up a package manager and it stays its installed, so how to I...execute it...play?

It's not in the menu under the Games category? I'm not really familiar with Mint. If not, try typing "aisleriot" or "solitaire" in the search box to find it.
