Hi, I messed around with Linux about 5 years ago and it was here and there so i'm really out of the loop here.
Anyway, I have VMware Player installed and I want to install Linux Mint 10 "Julia" 64 bit version, I downloaded the linuxmint-10-gnome-dvd-amd64.iso.
First question; Am I selecting Ubuntu 64 bit as the OS in VMware Player or Debian? The version I have is based on Ubuntu if i'm correct, but Ubuntu is based on Debian right?
Also, it seems I have to boot from the live DVD or ISO( I'll probably just have VMware load the iso, it's faster) get to the desktop and click on the installer from there. Is that right? Any way I can just boot from the dvd/iso and just start installing the OS without going to the desktop and clicking install from there?
Any answers would be great. Thanks.
