Question New to dual monitors

Just picked up a 34" curved Dell for a good deal and work gave me a Lenovo 24" LCD. I've never thought about dual monitors until now since I have them. I do web apps for work and I'm curious if there's any real world advantage that you guys have found. I am using the WIN 10 software to "extend the displays" but I'm curious if there's a better option to do more, like something I didn't think I needed.

All my work is on an HVD (VMWare Horizon Client) so I can't exactly split that across 2 screens. So I'm not sure there's an advantage to having dual monitors - unless I'm just doing web browsing on the other one. Or have my Outlook or OneNote up on the other one. Thoughts/tips?

BTW, I did try to use the 24" as a vertical display for coding but I didn't see much of an advantage there either. That's all a vertical display would be good for in the few days chances that I gave it.

I have dual 24" 1080P monitors. For desktop use, I just use a single one, but with my work laptop, I use both. Second monitor will often hold teams chats, email (when I just need to keep an eye on stuff), or other documents I need open to support whatever I'm doing on the main screen. My work largely consists of word documents and PowerPoints.

I also just use the basic Windows desktop extend. That's sufficient for my needs.

I do software development, so I'll usually have one monitor with my IDE, and second with the application running, then a third for SQL Management Studio, Teams, or documentation.

It's really going to be dependent on your workload and workflow, but it's so much easier for me to be able to avoid switching between windows.

YMMV....
Its great for web browsing because you get more of the page.
Its also great for PDF files and Word Documents, if your in that field.
I think for coding its a heavy YMMV, if your lines of text are wide or long.
I know content creators, and graphic designers HATE it, because they prefer the sideways LONG over Vertical LONG, unless they are working on pictures all the time.

I have a 43" in portrait mode for just that reason, and i am using it most of the time, over my 38 ultrawide, which is primary gaming and main display for media.

But i run a tri monitor setup, and can not go back down to dual or single, as i get uncomfortable not having enough real estate to keep my windows open.
