how do i run games on one and messenger/ internet stuff on the other?

is there a program a setting or am i SOL

i think what you need to do it to tell windows not to strech your desktop to a resolution of say 2560x1024. but to create to desktops. possbily go into the video card control panel. you should be able to do it from there.

You can leave a messenger on the 2nd monitor but you can't interact with it unless you minimize the fullscreen application on the primary display.

Use an app called Ultramon. Works like a charm. Make sure you set the monitors to Dual View (in the Nvidia drivers) if you have an Nvidia card, dunno what its called for ATI. (Dual View by itself will do what you want it to, but Ultramon works well for other dual monitor stuff too.)

You could play the game in a window. Just make the window the size of one of the screens and put one program on each screen.
