New to Droid... email woes with IMAP

So I am an AT&T defector, leaving my iPhone behind me and now on Verizon with a HTC Incredible. I like it so far, but there is one deal breaker looming... I cannot seem to figure out how to load all of my personal emails onto the phone from an IMAP account? I get the most recent emails in my inbox (about 15 right now), but don't see anything similar to the iPhone to "load the next 50 messages" or be able to search the server. Am I missing something or is this not included as a feature?

For me when I scroll to the bottom of my email list I have a button to push that says 'load more messages'.
