Are you sure about this? I haven't played in awhile, so they may have changed it...but back when I played it was quite clear to me that the garand had the superior accurate, particularly when not in IS mode. The kar couldn't hit the broad side of a barn without IS, while the garand was reasonable accurate firing multiple shots while just crouching.

As for IS accuracy...I think the difference was so small as to be a non issue, but I remember reading that the garand had literally zero 'error' when not moving with IS up.
