Hey guys,
I'm hoping to get my home setup with Cable internet in the coming weeks. Unfortunately, my house is pretty badly designed in this area. Without going into too much detail, the only cable outlets on the computer level are on the other side of the house from the computers.
I was hoping to setup my room and my brothers room.
I went ahead and measured the rough distance with a tape measure (going along the walls, to be more accurate), and it's roughly 45-50ft to my brother's PC, and about 60-65 feet to mine.
Would there be any problems running a cable this length to each PC? I've read on DSLreports.com's FAQ that there shouldn't be, but I was hoping someone could give me some input. Any problems with signal strength/reliability at that length?
Also, as kind of a side question, is there a kidn of splitter that would be able to divert one cable to my room (on the left), and the other to my brother's (on the right)?
What would be the best way to go about doing this?
Thanks so much for any input, I really appreciate it!
