I've never used bitorrent so how do i get started?

Do i need an application like a ftp client or what?

<--- has no clue 🙂

You need an application, such as azureus.sourceforge.net and then you need a torrent file (small file, usually <50kb), which then lets you connect to other users and download a file.
I can't think of any legal sites to link you to that have torrent files, the Top Gear/5th Gear site is down atm.
But if you go to sites, such as Suprnova with a .org, then you can download torrent files, which then allow you to download the main file.

FED's are monitoring it now, hard core.

Thank God I live in Canada, where we actually have real rights and can't be monitored without a warrant. And there is no 'patriot act' (aka: your rights have been violated and tossed to the 4 winds)

so reality time? in Canada, you have the real right to steal software?

software theft is a crime here like most places, but unlike the u.s. it's a crime to surveil or incarcerate someone without due process.

those who are worried about invasion of privacy laws are usually the ones with something to hide 😉

If you are so willing to give up your rights why don't you move to communist china than ? You will have zero privacy rights, better yet, build yourself a time machine and head to nazi germany, they'll get you nicely squared with your creed of privacy.

that wasn't my point, you missed it entirely, although reacted in a predictable manner, lashing out.. just becuase i implyed that people might have something to hide..

you're argument is nonsense, what you are saying directly implies the notion of 'but why do you care that we are snooping if you are doing nothing wrong'. I care because I am an independant person with rights and entitlements and if I allow them to be encroached upon, whats next... which led to my suggestions to you. Whatever to this. I'm out of this argument. Bye now.

Eh, whatever. Monitoring P2P networks is the same as cops sitting besides roads looking for speeders. If you're breaking the law, you deserve to be caught. If you pass a cop with a radar gun, do you bitch because he shouldn't be "monitoring" the road? No, you don't, you slow down.
