As far as I know, those Comcast DVR boxes are single tuner. This means that you can't record one show and watch another, you have to be watching the show you're recording or not watching the TV at all in order to record a specific channel. I THINK that this Tivo unit is dual tuner, meaning you can watch one show and record another. I was about to get the Comcast DVR except that I learned that it was single tuner so I canceled my order.

Pretty sure the only two-tuner TiVo boxes are the DirecTiVo units.

This Tivo is NOT dual tuner. As far as I know, there are no dual-tuner DVR's that are not integrated with some sort of decoder box (e.g. DirecTiVo or any hybrid digital cable/DVR box).

Normal TiVO units ARE single tuner. However, since the tuner is NOT used in recorded playback, you can watch a recording while making a live recording of TV on different "channels".
