New title or status for the old timers?

My proposal, (don't know if this has come up before or not).
Those people who have been members of ATF for more than 10 years should get a special title or be elevated to Lifer status.

No flames please but feedback/suggestions/enlightenment is encouraged.

I'm not against the idea, but I don't know if FuseCrap supports automatic title except based on post count (I could be wrong). The mods would have to manually issue Lifer status. Lifer status (despite the name) is based more on activity (post count) right now than quality or time spent here, but if vB ever gets implemented, I say we base it on a ratio of time since registration to post count, such that neffers don't get lifer status too quickly, and people who post less frequently but over a longer period of time get it faster.

I don't know if that will confuse the crap out of new members, though, or if it would be easy enough to implement.

Thanks for your very informative reply Crono ..... I just became aware that there a many many posters here who have only been members for a year or 2 and are way ahead of my member status. I am all over the forums most every day or so but I just don't post that often. I am amazed at some members post counts for the amount of time they have been here! I guess I could start posting 10 to 20 replies a day to get my count up but that seems so phony to me.
Anyway ..... if that's the way it is ....... that's the way it is. I just think longevity should be recognized in some way.

It only supports titles by post count.

This might be helpful. Then posters would know to type louder when replying to a gramp post.

I used to think membership duration and post count were silly vanities. The one thing post count does for me though is indicate (with exceptions) that the poster knows how things work around here and the internet in general.
