Great looking house. I'm surprised you posted that link though. I'd be afraid some ATOT knucklehead would keep the address and send me a "present" a few months down the road.

That's really close. The new house is located almost halfway between Erwin and Johnson City. Its basically 5 minutes to work (Erwin), or 5 minutes to the restaurants, theaters, etc. (Johnson City).

Cost of living in east TN is very very cheap, although it has been steadily rising in the past few years. I'm getting in on the good property while I can still (barely) afford it.

Congrats! We just bought our first home, we'll be closing on the 27th. Houses are pretty expensive in Vermont where I'm at, but we found one with everything we wanted at around the top of our price range. Managed to get the seller to pay all closing costs.

My wife hates the counter tops (par for course on that one) and we'll have to put in some hardwood floors in a couple of rooms for her but its in excellent shape. The home inspector kept saying how nice it was while he was looking it over.

How many houses did you end up looking at? I lost count, but I think we looked at like 25.

NuclearNed is a great guy. He deserves a few house warming gifts. Just make sure he has closed on the property and is moved in!

We've been casually looking for a long time - a couple of years, maybe? I don't know how many we've looked at. There have been only about three that even remotely interested us.

I was in it once several years ago with a buddy. I don't think it is very big, although it has one large room. The part I've been in might go back a couple hundred feet. Who knows? I might find a passage that goes back even further...

That will be slightly embarrassing, as the house is nicer than a lot of our stuff. We've had some of our furniture since our college days - I guess its time to upgrade!
