I'm sure those of you in the overclocking and cooling community
have seen the reviews already of Thermaltake's newest heatsink
and fan for socket A processors, the Volcano II.
I'd like to know if anyone has gotten their grubby little hands on one yet, and especially if and how they measure up to the
Globalwin units.

Let me know if you know or if you hear anything..

Cheers!

From what I "read" it seems that the volcano II with the stock fan is unable to compete with the globalwin fop38. However, if you place the volcano fan on top of the globalwin heatsink it seems to give about the same results but without all that noise. So right now, i'm just waiting for the fan to sell seperately so I can try this out for myself.

The heatsink does not match fop/alpha performance level in current testing. Better testing needs to be done to determine the true difference, as the 4C "read temp difference" can be anything from 4 to 20C in core temp difference.

Why don't ppl test w/ Intel cpus anymore. I understand AMD cpu's give out more heat, but they suk cause u gotta measure heat with the mobo thermistor.

Can't u guys get a P3 1ghz OC it a bit and put the voltage to 1.95/2.00v or something?

Good news.. was checking out the usual Overclockers websites and found a link to a great article comparing all the fans and heatsinks your little heart could desire for Socket A lovers.. thought this was a great article.. just make sure you get the "next" links on each page, they're a bit small on the bottom left..
Enjoy!
