New Thermaltake Case

Came across an ad for this case on TOMS - im really impressed by this case. Ive been on the look out for a sexy new case which i plan to use for a new rig with water cooling, and i think this may be it! Look at that mirrored surface! 2 x 120mm! And an added 90mm side fan.

Only disadvantage i can see is that the mobo tray isnt removeable, although for me personally thats not a huge deal. Thermaltake cases are hard enough to come by in the UK, so im hoping that ill be able to find this one somewhere.

I tend to go for straight lines, so the curvyness of the front bezel looks awkward to me. But otherwise it's a nice case. I used to swear by removable mb trays, but as long as the case is big enough I can live without it.

'd get it. how much are they?

150?

No idea as i havent yet been able to find a retailer - looks like a brand new line just recently launched so it maybe a while before it makes it to outlets, and maybe YEARS for it to get to us poor souls stuck on this little island known as the UK 🙁

But its Thermaltake, so you can be sure that they will be costing a fair bit. Top of the line stuff afterall 🙂.

Riced-up wavemaster, I agree.

Still a nice "upgrade" if you would, it has a lot of nice features that the coolermaster does not. (and I own a wavemaster.)

Most def a rip-off, though.

indeed a wavemaster rip off but if it was cheaper, i would buy it over a wavesmaster.

i like the fact that it has a 120mm fan on the back, i BELIEVE the wavemaster has a 80mm

the mirror finish is a nice touch as well. if it had a removable mobo tray i wouldnt even consider the wavemaster

yeah credit where its due for going with 120mm fans, tbh I find it silly its only antec who seem to see them as standard already. Wont be surprised if they just went with 120mm because thats all the OEM chassis manufacturer would do though 😉

I'd bet that mirror finish looks dirty & smeared v quick though, and those 120mm fans dont seem to be given the very good ventilation. Shame the metal door doesnt come with 92mm side fan, IMO the X-window looks a tad silly on a case trying to do a "classy" look.

if you look at the pics on the next page, the front doesnt seem to be put on well, there's a big noticable gap all around it. also strange they have the front halved by design, yet its the whole thing that opens?

not bad for a TT, but I still wouldnt buy it.

What we really need is Anandtech to do a case review on that, as opposed to random spiderman cases 😕

Then we would have a clearer idea for sure what is what 🙂

well said pookie

I can't stand the curved front bezel.

anyone else really hate bezel doors to hide the drives? they just really get on my nerves... awkward to keep opening and closing the door, and the cases usually look like crap if you remove the door.

front doors are nice to get a clean look but i prefer to stealth my drives and yes this is a wavemaster ripoff

Another purist I see. Exactly right!

It might rip off the exterior of the wave master, but it is an antec on the inside, kinda like the SLK3700 series, and that is a good thing, much nicer IMO than the Coolermaster.
