Some non-biased review sites should try this stuff out. Could be quite nice. Could suck completely though.

I'll give it a try, however...

My current favorite is MX-1.

Works better than AS5 (IMHO) and lasts for 8 years! 😉

The only 'con', if you will, is it takes 200 hours to burn-in...

Highly likely that it is something that's already out here, just repackaged for Thermalright.

..bh.

It looks like the same stuff that came with my XP-120 a while ago, which was pretty much identical to Arctic Silver Ceramique.

Most of the highend heatsink manufacturer`s do not skimp on thermal paste quality!!

AS5 is old news and way over rated!!

Very possible!

Playing the name game, I wonder if this might be VapoChill Heat Conduction Compound revisited?!?!?

uh-huh...then people wouldn't buy it and trash the stock stuff would they?

Lets not start this again...get over it.

So has anyone tried out the MX-1 stuff yet? Is it worth scraping of the AS5 on my CPU sink and putting some MX-1 on?

Yep, it's my current favorite! 😉

It's kinda weird to handle at first. MX-1 reminds me of dried up toothpaste...

You should spread it V thin -- be able to see the lettering through it. A little goes a long way!

Take note of the purdy pic in the MX-1 section for the proper amount to use!

Come on, that's possibly the worst arguements ever attempted.

"If it weren't possible to talk to god then why would millions of people try it?"

I'm betting that if this stuff is better than AS5 it'll be only by a stupidly small amount, just as AS5 is only better than most stock pastes by a stupidly small amount.

We do fall for marketing bullshit sometimes.

I'm here to tell you... that's all the MX-1 you need!

This stuff is great!!!

I've been telling ppl this since, like, May. The geezers in these forums fought me at first, but as you can see... they've given up. 🙂

MX-1 is (ahem) #1 right now, IMHO!
