New Television

I usually research the hell out of a tech item before buying it, but I would like to get searching in the right direction first.

What is the best technology for the price right now?

I would like to get a 36-42" (or there abouts) television.

My mom has a 36" Sony Wega, HD, flat screen Tube set and it is amazing to me.

I would prefer a flat panel screen though.

Is DLP the way to go now?
Plasma?
Projection HD?
Which ones do I need to watch out for dead pixels?

I don't want to go over $1500.

Thanks!

I'd actually suggest you get yourself a Da-Lite Drop-down, glass beaded screen, a standalone HDTV tuner and a projector...

I have a Samsung HLS4666W that I bought from amazon a few weeks ago.

I did a ton of research and it was the best bang for the buck. Sure there are better TVs (probably not much better) but for twice the price.

Feel free to ask me anything about it from my use or research on it.
