The IRS, in it's ever ending attempts to simplify the tax code has sent out new tax forms. You should be getting yours soon.

I've posted it below so you can see what the changes are.

1040EZ To Do Tax Form

New Simplified Tax Form

1. How much money do you make? $_______

Has any one ever filled out a 1040 EZ??? I mean, that's like 1st grade complexity. ? Although Amused's form might be a little simpler...

1st grade complexity? More like pre-school complexity. Just get out your W-2 forms and the 1040EZ, follow the numbers down the form and fill in the blanks.

Believe it or not, I used to charge $5 to do 1040EZ forms for other students when I was in college, and would make a couple hundred each spring as word would get around. Too many people were just freaked out over the whole idea of tax forms and just didn't believe they could do it. Just follow the simple directions!

Yeah, "simple" and "tax forms" usually do not belong aywhere in the same zip code of one another though! 😉 The 1040EZ is one of the few forms that pretty much straight forward and simple. The more I've worked with taxes and tax forms over the years, the more I realize what a complicated mess most of the regulations are.

Did any one of you watch the State of the Union? The tax cuts are now! I did mine last night and heres the diff between 2001 and 2002 for us.

2001 owed $59 federal $450 state OK

2002 $1500 refund federal (didnt figure state yet)

Bush Jr. saw the problem and fixed it. He cares!
