I thought about this today. I'll try to draw a diagram.

Fan on side that sucks air Fan on top that blows
................ -|--------------------|-
................ -|--------------------|-
................ -|--------------------|-
................ -|--------------------|- Fan on side sucks air
................ -|--------------------|-
................ -|--------------------|-

I cant draw it well but how well would this idea work? A fan onthe top that blows and one fan on each side screw into the fins that suck? Please comment on this.

I tried it with the stock fan on top, and two 40 or 50 mm fans on the sides. Number one depending on your board the side fans may not fit, as was the case for my KT7A Raid. Number 2 the fans don't screw into the fins really well. Number 3 it dropped my temps from just using the stock fan a degree or two, but I found it works better with both the small fans on top instead of the stock fan. But try it and see if it works for you.

Like this right? But fans going the other direction

The problems with that is, is your having 2 fans sucking out thats over powering the top sunon fan, just about makes it useless or even in the way of airflow. And when having fans that close to each other you get alot of air turbulance noise

I have a similar setup as above but with a 80mm panaflo and a YS Tech 60mm blowing onto the HS. I just use rubber band to mount the 60mm. I don't know how will this worked because the weather is too hot to compare with my previous setup which has both 60mm instead of a 80mm. I will try the fan around later

Thanks bro,

Hmm, do you think that a lot of air might be pulled out of the sides before it strikes the bottom of the heatsink? Seems like it might.

clarkmo, that would only be a problem if the top fan were blowing and the side fans were sucking. since all are sucking, Gizzo makes a good point that the top fan wont be doing a whole lot. the majority of the air will go out through the two side fans.

Why not just get a higer rpm fan for the Taisol?

If the 38cfm black label is too load, there is a 30cfm delta as well (works well in my rig). I saw a review somewhere of a 31cfm fan (not delta) that was very quiet, something like 28dba - whis I could remember where.

That 28Dba fan that pushes 31CFM has to be wrong. I think I know which on you are talking about and it's not right.
