Hi. I am looking at buying a new system/workstation for audio recording/editing.
I was looking at a dual core X2 4200/4400 as well as a Pentium D 830/840. This is the first time I have built a workstation and Im not totally sure what it will require but it needs:
2 Monitors (17" LCD preferable to save space)
400gb space minimum
Creative Labs Audigy 4 or equivalent (for recording, 6 line ins minimum)
I was looking at spending between £1000-£1500 ($1700-$2700 USD) I am aware this is a US forum but same hardware can be bought over here. If anyone could help me out on a spec it would apprechiated. I was thinking
AMD Athlon X2 4200/4400
DFI Lan Party NF4 Ultra D
1GB Geil PC4000 Ultra
2X Western Digital 200gb
2X 17" Philips LCD
16X Dual Layer DVD Writer +/-
6600GT Dual DVI Output
Creative Labs Audigy 4
Im sure someone can come up with a better spec than that, if so it would be much apprechiated. I have not included the PSU or case etc in that spec as they wont affect the system too much and can be bough once the main components are known.
Thanks for any help
Nick
