New system won't turn on

I just got the last parts for a system i've been putting together. I used an ASUS A7V motherboard i had RMA'd previously, used a sound card i had around, everything else i bought. The A7V has a green light on it that lights when the board has power, and this light does turn on. However, the system will not. I HATE the little connectors for the LED's and power switch, they are so small, and its hard to tell which one goes where, and there are always more pins on the MB then needed. I figured since i have issues with those, that was the problem, but after playing around with those for awhile, and pretty sure i have them right, still nothing. This is EXACTLY what my A7V did after a bad BIOS flash, and i even bought a new ROM chip, which didn't help it, so i RMA'd it. ASUS sent me this board, and i noticed it had another ROM chip in it. I guess i shouldn't have trusted this worthless company. Im not new to system building, and the only thing isn't new or known to work is the motherboard. If it is the board, its not worth the 3+ weeks to get another broken one from asus. anyone have any insight to my problem, could it be anything else?:disgust:

did you make sure that the case isnt grounding out the mobo?

did you build it somewhere other than your shag carpet?

Try disconnecting everything except the memory and processor. Removing all devices will at least narrow it down to either the mobo, memory, proc, or the p/s. How many memory sticks do you have in it. Try removing the memory to see if you get an error beep. Also do you have a friend that will let you borrow a component or two to test with?
