my new system wont boot, i get no error beeps, and everything seems to have power.

2.8c
asus p4p800 D
2x512 pc3000 hyper x
ati 9800 non-pro
sb live
2x wd raptors
3 optical drives
1 fan bay
antec trueblue 480w
4 fans
3 ccfl

any incapatibilities with these? knowing me its some little mistake, but ive checked things numerious times. Ive swaped out 3 dif video cards and still recieve no signal from my monitor. Ive checked the monitor on a dif computer and everything is fine. I have yet to instal the mobo drivers/win xp/ or anything else. If i can get into the bios i would like to set the raptors up in raid 0. Thanks.

edit: see post 7, i think it might be the raptors, anyone know the correct jumper settings for 2 raptors?

what monitor are you using? I had a similar problem and I switched from DVI to analog inputs and poof it worked. The only thing I can think is its ddefaulted to a non supported res. Set everything up and switched back to dvi and it works perfect. Thinking back I probably would have played with the buttons on the monitor to see if I could fix it.

why would it be shorting? according to the asus mannual, with 2 dimms of memory, there is only 1 option of placement for the ram.

I don't know if that was the problem or not. I do know it worked though and that was the only thing I could think of. Ihave a 191t so given the coincidence I would try it.

Factory default settings, 1st 2 pins closest to 4 pin power connector shorted.

Btw-I thing what they mean by shorting is that your case may be shorting out your motherboard------------------Take the motherboard out of the case------------------------ ------------------Hook up Only! the bare essentials---------------------------
then try to boot.
