Just ordered the parts for a new system this evening, and I was wondering what people around here would have to say about it, got it all from newegg


Epox 8KHA+ with an Athlon XP 1800
Enlight 7237 case with 340 watt PSU
Gainward GF3Ti200
256MB Crucial Micron PC2100 DDR
Lite-On 32x burner
Linksys NIC
Sony Floppy

All came out to $666 including shipping and everything

Also picked up a liteon 16x dvd drive from dell last week, i'm going to use a hard drive from an old system for the time being (gonna wait and pick up a WD 120GB w/ 8MB buffer when the price drops, and an old 17 inch monitor until i find a good deal on a newer bigger one.

<edit> I ended up picking up that hard drive from dell for 188 shipped, so that brings my total up to $854. I'm going to bump this thread to see if anyone else has any other opinions about it </edit>

Let me know what you think. The system will primarily be used for recreation (games and stuff, surfing the internet), and occasionally getting some work done.
 
Not bad mine was P41.6a, gigabyte8irxp,enermax whisper 350 watt, asus 52X cdrom, Panasonic floppy, 60 gig Diamondmaxplus 7200 liquid ball bearing hdd, Geforce2 mx400 64 meg ddr with tv out, 256ddr micron for $1080 canadian which works out to $660 U.S
 
Did you get the 120GB 1200JB WD drive with 8meg cache for $188 shipped? If so, that's a great price.
How did you get it for that?
 
Mavrick: It was the OEM version from dell, and it was an awesome deal. I built this computer at my home, and i realized how sweet of a deal that was, so when i got back to school last night i tried to order another one for me and the price was back up to $235... it was a limited time discount or something.
