OK folks, its that time again. I am looking to seriously upgrade (ok, pretty much replace) my computer. Right now I have an Athalon 1.33 with 512 megs of ddr ram on an epox 8kha (ah) mobo, an ati aiw radeon (original) with 32 megs, 2 40 gig hd's and a cdrw and dvd- or + r/rw.
I am looking to pretty much gut the system and get a new chip and board, memory and video card. I have been out of the loop for a while so I'm not sure what to get. I have an apple dvi lcd so I need a video card with dvi on it. I'm pretty set on the upcoming (now) ati aiw 9700. I know its expencive but I want a hot video card and I love the tv features I have now. I do a bit of everyting on my system (games, a bit of video editing and the like).
So any sugetions, I'm not set on using an amd chip again, don't care really, so any advice would be great. Oh as for price, I dont want to set my credit card on fire, so no intel 3.06ghz for me. Or would I be better off just getting the videocard now and waiting a bit for lower prices on a faster chip?
