New System - Severe Stability Problems

I'm about at my wit's end with my new rig. Specs are:

RaidMax Smilodon Case
ThermalTake Toughpower 750w modular PSU
ASUS P5NE-SLI
DualCore E6600
HIS Radeon 1950Pro
Western Digital 250g SATA drive
LG DVD Burner
Running XP Home w/ SP2

The system POST's properly, and seems well-cooled - ASUS's monitoring software shows my CPU temps around 30C, and the mobo temps around 25C. I've replaced the stock Intel cooler with a heatpipe cooler.

The system locks up and restarts itself randomly and constantly. It will (usually) boot up fine, but usually either locks up or flat-out restarts itself within 5 minutes of power on. I've checked all cables, taken it apart and put it back together several times. I have almost nothing but the drivers installed at this point - any time I try to install anything else, it will lock up before completing installation.

I've tried everything I can think of to fix this problem, and am about ready to just toss the thing out of my window. Does anyone have any ideas about what could be causing this?

I've had stability issues with that ram on an Asus motherboard. Assuming you are using 2 1GB sticks, remove one and try running the system with just 1 stick for now. See if that helps.

Sure sounds like a heat issue. Try using the latest Speed Fan. The newest version gives you not only CPU temp but core temp also. I have seen a non-flat heatsink cool the proc while letting the core get overheated. Also check your BIOS to make sure hardware monitering values are set right.
