I would appreciate it if anyone saw a problem with this configuration to let me know... It's been 1.5 years since I have done much research in comp parts.
I am replacing my Motherboard and Ram... cooler too maybe

I have:
radeon 8500
amd athlon 1.4 (1700)
400 antec psu
zaleman cooler 5000

what I'm planning on getting:
Asus A7N8X nforce2 Athlon(XP
Corsair CMX256A-2700C2PT 256MB DDR333 PC2700 Memory w/Silver Heat

Anyone know if I can fit a ZALMAN CNPS7000 (FLOWER)
possible problem with this heat sink:cpu compatiblility is listed as: AMD Athlon 64 (Socket 754)... will this fit on the asus a7n8x?

Thanks a lot

The Athlon 64 is the next-generation Hammer processor, and will use an entirely different heatsink attachment system, but that's not going to be out for months, so no worries... you don't have one.

There's a potential issue with the memory/motherboard combo, you can read more about that here: HouseOfHelp Forums with the official word from Corsair. As you can see, there's a workaround and it requires a stick of un-special DDR such as Crucial PC2100.

You probably know this already, but be aware that the A7N8X and A7N8X-Deluxe are different from eachother, and neither one has onboard video. The Deluxe adds the POST Reporter (onboard speech unit with pre-programmed messages of doom like "System CPU Fail!"), the very good nForce 5.1 audio processor with a coaxial S/PDIF digital-out jack, onboard Firewire, and two onboard network adapters.
