Hey guys, I have been out of the hardware scene for a little while and need some help piecing together my new system. Here's what I have so far, please let me know what changes I should or shouldn't make:

19" LCD Monitor (most recommend Samsung 191T or Dell UltraSharp 1800FP)
Antec SX1030B case (reused from old system)
P4 Power supply (need recommendations)
Pentium 4 3.0ghz
Abit IS7 motherboard
(2) 512mb PC3200 DDR
Video card (need recommendations, preferably fastest thing out with best bang for the buck)
Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audigy 2 - PCI OEM
Western Digital "SPECIAL EDITION" 80GB HDD (main drive)
Western Digital "SPECIAL EDITION" 250GB HDD (backup drive)
Lite On 52x32x52 Black CDRW
LITE-ON XJ-HD166/XJ-HD 165H 16X DVD ROM Drive
Klipsch Promedia 2.1's or Promedia GMX A-2.1s (anything else better for 2.1s?)

I am still hung up about the LCD monitor since I used my friend's Samsung 191T and at 1280x1024, I noticed it had weird horizontal lines going across it. Anyone else experience this or could his be defective? Well let me know, thanks in advance!

I forgot to add that I also need a TV tuner as well, with a remote. Thanks!

Since you are going all out by the looks of it, I would recommend either a 9800 pro or fx 5900 ultra. If you don't have the money for it, you could sarifice the second backup hard drive to something slightly slower.

However, if you still have money burning a hole in your pocket, I did spot that there was no DVD burner present. If you are gonna buy something so up-to date, you might as well spend that little extra for the DVD burner.

This is actually going to be my system for college for the next few years, which is why I am putting a lot into it. Thanks for the suggestions. I still need some insight on the LCD monitors.

If you're looking for a video card that will last you as long as possible (through college) the 9800 Pro 128MB version (or 9800 NP if you need to save some dough) may be the way to go. I don't own a P4 system myself (yet) so I can't recommend a P4 PSU from experience but the Antec TruePower line has a good reputation (I have one that came w/ my Sonata case and it's quiet and works great)... the 380W goes for $72 at NewEgg and should be sufficient.

Since college is going to be four years, I really recommend spending less now and doing upgrades along the road. It keeps your system more up to date, and you won't have to worry about component prices dropping so badly as vs. getting a P4 3.0c now and having it lose $200 in value in no time.

I'd get an AMD system or a 2.4c if I was an intel addict.

On the hard drive, I'd get something smaller than the 250gb because that drive is very expensive. Run by hot deals: 50 cents a gig on 120's, 160's w/ 8mb buffer etc happen sometimes. If you're still getting the 250, set that as master, because it is a faster drive than the 800JB, and you want your windows partition to be fast.
