Hey guys,

I'm putting together my system

I have:

Msi K8N Neo platinum
athlon64 3200+
2 512 meg sticks of crucial ram (value stuff i guess)
250 gig hdd
saphire 9800 pro
fortron 530 watt psu

the system turns on, but does a quick tripple beep with very little pause inbetween. and my monitor will not display anything except some "no freq" display or something....

any ideas what it is or what to do... .i'm on msi's site trying to figure it out.... i can't seem to find a post code section in the included manual.....

fixed it.....

i found the post code section on msi's site......

running smooth now..... although 62C (idle) seems a little warm - maybe I'm wrong..... what should my temps be? I'm using a retail fan with arctic silver.

Not normal, try to get below 50 if possible. Do you have case fans installed? You'll need to suck in cold air and suck out the warm air that builds inside. Enjoy your new rig.

There's a BIOS update for this board that should bring the temperature estimates down towards what you were expecting to see.

i was expecting 42 - 45c from a stock fan with arctic silver....... i hope i don't have too much AS on there.
