New System: Please check for conflict

Hi everyone,

I am planing to buy this system. Would you please help to check if there is any conflict/problem. Any other recommendation? Thanks!

Cooler Master Wave Master (TAC-T01-E1C)
Antec TruePower 480W Dual Fan

Best regards,

Looks good to me...I would say if you are going to overclock the 3000+ is sweet - cheaper and hits 2.5-2.6GHz like nothing.

not to mention the expensive RAM he has picked out is a waste

Thank you for your quick reply! I am not planning to overclock the system and it seems like the RAM I chose is overkill. What's the good, reliable RAM for this system? Thanks!

OK, I will go with the Corsair VS1GBKIT400 RAM. I heard the 7200.8 is very noisy. Besides, I am not sure if the MSI NEO2 support the NCQ (sp?) feature... The speaker is very cheap ($75 CAD).

Few more questions:
1. In the original config, I had the Cooler Master TAC-T01-E1C + Antec 480W PS. Can the ANTEC SONATA w/ 380W PS handle the system load? If the answer is "yes", I will save about $160 CAD!

2. I heard good things about the ASUS A8V. How is it compared to the MSI NEO2? Can both MBs support NCQ (sp?)?

3. Can I hook up both the SATA and IDE harddrives on the MB? I want to re-use some of my old IDE drives

Best regards,

I doubt it. 6800 == juice

A8V < Neo2

Yes.

If you want so save cash, see how much an Evercase E4252BB-53 will run you. They're really nice and inexpensive cases. 120mm fan slot too so they're quiet too.

No NF3 boards support NCQ, but that doesn't stop you from being able to use that HD. You can, of course, also use IDE drives on it.

The Sonata's PSU would most certainly handle that system and more.

Consider one of the Epox NF3 boards if you're interested in saving a few bucks on the motherboard.
