New System Overview - Input Appreciated

I am putting together a new system (mostly for general tasks, plus some gaming), with the following:

Motherboard: Asus A7N8X Deluxe Retail
CPU: Athlon XP 2500+ Barton Core (333 ddr fbs)
RAM: Corsair XMS (Twin Pack) 1GB(2 x 512MB) PC-3200C2PT Silver Heat Spreaders
Case: Antec Model SX1040BII with 400watt PS
Floppy: Sony
CD-ROM Drive: Lite On 52x32x52x Black
Hard Drive: 120gig 7200rpm Seagate Barracuda - 7200.7 ST3120022A
Video Card: ATI RADEON 9500 PRO 128MB DDR DVI AGP RETAIL

The main things I'm not POSITIVE on are the RAM, and the video card. Also, should I get an OEM or Retail processor? I will be using a SK-7 HSF on it, so do I really need the retail one? And would the retail one jsut be a hassle to take off? Any suggestions for any of the components would be appreciated!

Just a couple of suggestions. First, take a look @ the Abit NF7-S. Unless you need dual LAN, I think the NF7-S is a better choice.

I would also see if you can still find the 9700NP around for $199. It appears Mwave is out of them, but you might be able to find somewhere else.

The Corsair should be fine, but also look at the Kingston HyperX. 🙂

I would recommend the Retail processor for 3-year warranty (plus its the same price basically). The heatsink will not be attached, so you won't have to remove anything. I would get the 9600 Pro, personally.

To add think about 1 CDRW/DVD combo instead of the Lite-ON stated, just in Case and for $20-US more better to be safe then wanting later on

Thanks for the quick replys!

Insane3D: For some reason, I jsut love the dual-LAN ports 😉 I have neard nothing but good things about the ASUS, so I think I'll probably end up with it.

cmaMath: I totally forgot about the warranty difference. Thanks for that. I'll be sure to get the retail one. Also nice to know I won't have to pry the crappy HSF off the chip! 🙂 Also, why the 9600pro? I have heard that the 9500pro has twice as many "pipelines", and therefore a better preformer? I'm not up-to-date on my video cards, so if anyone else has input in thie cactgory, it would be helpful.

As far as video cards go, can someone give me a breakdown of these three:
9500 Pro
9600 Pro
9700 Non-Pro
I will probably not overclock (or at least not much), so I don't really care about overclockability. What are the basic differences in the three? I do need a VGA connector...although I believe all three have that.

Does using an aftermarket cooler void your warranty on a retail CPU? Or not?
