I currently have a P2 400mhz, Asus P2/B, 64mb pc100 sdram, and a riva128-based video card (hehe). Pretty much anything I buy will be a substantial leap over this system, so I might go with:

AMD Thunderbird 1.4ghz
Epox 8k7a+
256mb Crucial PC2100 DDR SDRAM
Kryo2 (maybe ultra...I don't play anything too heavy)

Doe that sound wise? Also, I am needing a new harddrive as well, and was going to go with the IBM 40gb 60GXP hd, but after doing a search here on the forums, it sounds like everyone's IBM hd is failing at one point or another. Any recommendations on a similarly priced/performing/capacity drive?

Thank you!

I'd go with 512mb of that good Crucial Ram. A Maxtor Diamond Max Plus 40GB, ATA 100, 7200 is a good choice. Quiet, fast, and reliable in my experience.

To my knowledge all the problems lately with IBM drives have been the 75GXP series, not the 60GXP's. Double check me to make sure.
