new system, nothing on screen

so, I've built many systems in the past, ~15 or so.

I finally put together another system (a very cheap one I put together as a spare) and am having an issue with it and can't figure out what the problem is.

Everything is connected properly, but nothing is being posted to the screen. I turn it on, every fan is running (gfx cards, cpu, etc) but can't get anything to the screen. To top it off, I don't think ECS has any sort of lights on the mobo to help me trouble shoot what may be the issue.

I'm kind of at a stale mate and not sure what to do. I'm thinking I may try to go to frys and exchange the mobo for a new one, since that may be the issue.

Here's the config/parts I have:

motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16813135068

cpu: http://www.newegg.com/Product/...E16819116063&Tpk=e2200

memory: http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16820227139

gfx card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16814127295

Any ideas are appreciated!

You've got one of those little speakers hooked up to the mobo? Make sure the videocard is seated properly ? Try a different videocard or perhaps a different monitor ? If it's a spare PC you have other PC's you could use to swap components.

Jack - it wasn't set on clear.

I messed with it a little more, and also just realized I actually have onboard vga!!
I connected the monitor to it, and still same problem. My case does have a speaker in it, and I wasn't sure where to connect it. I tried connecting it to the analog audio, but I didn't hear anything (I don't think that was the right spot to connect it to)

Just curious though, the mothereboard should post to the screen regardless of memory not being seated correctly, and same with a CPU not seated correctly right? I'm pretty sure they are correct, but just curious.

One other note - I can't even get it to flash any of the case LED lights for the hard drive/activity lights.

Anymore ideas?

The little speaker has to be hooked up where you hook up the cables for resetting, powering on your pc, the usb etc etc. But if nothing is working, it kinda sounds like a dead board. Have you tried swapping out things though like I suggested ?

If the cpu is not seated correctly and you have a heatsink installed on it, you now have bent pins. Ram and cou must be installed properly to post.
