I just built my new system yesterday (first try at building my own). I have it working great but there are a few questions that I need some help with.

System:

T-Bird 1.33 gig 266fsb
Epox 8K7A BIOS ver. 6.00
256meg P2100 Crucial RAM
Asus V7700 Geforce 2 GTS Drivers: 12.90
12gig Harddrive
52X CD-Rom drive
etc.

1. My performance scores in 3dmark 2001 were 3350 and 7400 in 3dmark 2000... Im just wondering if this is the performace I should get, or should I have more? Is there anything I should install to get performance even better?

2. How do I know if my chip and ram are running at 266fsb.. Is there away to check?

3. I installed some USB drivers that came with the EPOX disk, but for some reason, I cannot get my optical mouse to work with USB.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

with my vid card i get 2800 or so with 3dmark 2k1

so you did better with your card, get sisoft sandra and do some memory benchmarks

overclocking is pretty easy, what is your clock multiplier? if you lower that and up the fsb in the bios that would give you faster memory

did you write down the numbers on your processor core?

go into the bios and its the option that has "voltage" in it, sorry i am not at home so i don't know exactly

but its the first or second option on the right

then enter a number, i have booted up to 156, but you should shoot for around 150, then 3dmark again =)

any higher then 1500 im not sure your chip could handle it, what hsf are you using?

What is hsf?

I set the fsb to 140(a little paranoid about going to 150.. dont want to fry it) and I only got around 30 points higher in 3dmark2001

when I ordered the chip, they gave me an AMD certified coolmaster fan. I dont know the exact specs of it.. pretty large heatsink though.

those 3dmarks scores seem fine, and right in line with many. since you probably haven't tweaked much of the ram settings you may get a bit more out of it.
