Hi folks!

Thinking of putting this system together this month...I have about $1500.00 budget to spend. The memory is 171.99, and I will have to get that in January as my budget is firm.

COOLER MASTER CM Stacker STC-T01-UW Black/ Silver
EVGA 122-CK-NF68-AR Socket T (LGA 775) NVIDIA nForce 680i SLI ATX Intel Motherboard
eVGA 768-P2-N831-AR GeForce 8800GTX 768MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16 HDCP Video Card
HIPER HPU-4S730-MS ATX12V v2.2 730W Power Supply
Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 Conroe 2.4GHz LGA 775 Processor Model BX80557E6600
Crucial Ballistix 1GB kit: BL2KIT6464AA1005
DDR2 PC2-8000 ? 5-5-5-15 ? UNBUFFERED ? NON-ECC ? DDR2-1000 ? 2.2V ? 64Meg x 64

I'm re-using many other componenets until such a time as I can replace them; OS, Sound Card, HDDs, etc.

I'd appreciate your thoughts on this configuration.

Ciao!

Considering your budget, and your selections ( on CPU + VGA ), it looks like your a "hardcore" or just "demanding" gamer.
But...yes, there's a but:
You've picked up a 1GB Memory Kit, which will be "killing" your system in some current and some forthcoming PC Games.
Counting on Windows Vista aswell, you'd better get a 2GB Kit, even a value one, because you'll need it 🙂
You can save some money by changing the motherboard, from the eVGA 680i to a i975X or i965P motherboard.

Just some thoughts 🙂
